Felician University MBA: Business education reimagined

Located just 10 miles from New York City is an MBA built for today’s volatile economic landscape. Felician University’s MBA in Innovation and Entrepreneurship is a radical, much-needed departure from the traditional business degree – and for many good reasons. Today’s global marketplace is dynamic, with over 400,000 new businesses added annually. The standard managers from a decade ago won’t be able to keep up.

That’s why the Felician University’s MBA strives to transform students into innovative entrepreneurs — leaders who can navigate uncertainty with both technical precision and ethical groundedness. By blending the fast-paced energy of the New York metropolitan area with a deeply rooted commitment to service, Felician is preparing a new generation of executives to lead with impact.

The Felician philosophy: Human-centred innovation

In JPMorgan’s “Leaders forge ahead in 2026” report, 73% of business leaders remain neutral or pessimistic about the global economy, while confidence in local economies dropped from 59% to 44%. At the same time, AI is becoming a key part of operations, particularly in process automation (62%), predictive analytics (44%), and market intelligence (42%).

Felician’s MBA’s focus on “strategic adaptability” and human-centred innovation is built to help students stay ahead of changes like these and more. It’s designed to empower students to not just launch disruptive start-ups but also to lead a digital transformation within a Fortune 500 company.

A Cohort Learning Model makes this possible. Instead of studying alone, MBA candidates move through the curriculum as a tight-knit unit. Doing so creates an environment with more collaboration and more professional connections as it mirrors the collaborative environment of the modern C-suite, where collective problem-solving is the key to organisational survival.

Experience that matters

Most MBAs end with a research paper, but at Felician, it ends with real-world experience. In “ENT 599: The Capstone Experience,” you’ll become a pro-bono consultant, solving issues for nonprofit organisations.

Past teams have developed branding for Suits U, a boutique that provides free interview attire to students. Others created a sustainable operating plan for Our Sister’s Pantry and worked with Felician’s Director of Athletics to improve concession operations.

International student Shiva Kumar Kavali completed an internship at benefits and HR consulting firm Segal. “Felician’s graduate programme played an important role by providing academic preparation, faculty mentorship, and opportunities that connected classroom learning with industry experience, which helped me secure and maximise this internship opportunity,” he says.

During the internship, Kavali built expertise in security governance and Data Loss Prevention (DLP), while supporting technical initiatives and contributing to the Data Analytics and Information Security teams. “It has strengthened my communication and professional skills while helping me understand workplace expectations in the US,” he adds.

Nirajan KC completed his internship at Niural AI. “As an AI Product Manager, I worked on understanding user problems, translating them into product requirements, collaborating with engineers and designers, and exploring how AI can support real operational tasks in a responsible way,” he says.

KC credits Felician’s faculty mentors with helping him build confidence and connect classroom learning with real-world applications. “Their guidance helped me approach my internship with a stronger understanding of both the technical and professional expectations required in the US workplace,” he shares.

Future-ready business education

The Fourth Industrial Revolution has blurred the lines between business, technology, and innovation. As part of its MBA’s evolution, the programme will feature five new specialisations delivered in partnership with RIZE Education from Summer 2026.

The “Artificial Intelligence” specialization explores the ethical implementation of AI technologies, while “Business Analytics” focuses on using complex data sets to drive actionable corporate strategy.

Students interested in “Cybersecurity” can learn how to protect the digital infrastructure modern enterprises rely on. Others may choose “Finance” to examine advanced strategies for the global financial landscape or “Digital Marketing” to understand how brands connect with consumers in a digital world.

A global reach from a local hub

Being in Rutherford, New Jersey is another one of the university’s biggest advantages. With New York City just 10 miles away, you can join visits to the New York Stock Exchange and networking events with industry leaders. But it doesn’t stop at New York.

As part of the capstone course, you’ll spend a week in Dublin through Felician’s partnership with the University of Ireland. Included in your tuition, the experience offers fresh insights into entrepreneurship and the chance to connect with European business leaders.

Accessible excellence

Felician has made graduate education more accessible. With no GRE or GMAT required, the MBA can be completed in as little as 18 months, either online or through a hybrid learning format. Plus, its accreditation from the International Assembly of Collegiate Business Education (IACBE) means your degree is respected by employers worldwide.

As a result, 94% of MBA graduates globally report that their degree was a worthwhile investment (Forbes). “The programme equipped me with the academic preparation, faculty mentorship, and opportunities to connect classroom learning with industry experience, helping me secure and make the most of my internship,” Kavali says.
